Wash the blackberries and put them into a one litre screw top bottle. Add the sugar, cloves or star anise and the broken cinnamon stick.
Top up with 75 cl vodka and screw the lid on.
Shake vigorously today and every day for approx two weeks to ensure the sugar is dissolved.
Then put the bottle away somewhere dark and forget about it for a couple of months or so.
Strain off the fruit, put the liqueur into a nice decanter - or at least a cleaner bottle. I eat the blackberries on ice cream, and drink the vodka as a very lethal liqueur.

I make Sloe Vodka but this sounds wonderful! Have already put on calendar to remind me to make in the Autumn.
