Apple and Pear Crumble

Method

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180° C, 350 F, gas mark 4.

  • 2. Place the peeled, cored and sliced apples and pears in a ovenproof dish.

  • 3. Sprinkle over half of the sugar and 2 tablespoons water.

  • 4. Rub the sifted flour and butter together than add sugar and walnuts.

  • 5. Spoon the mixture over the fruit and place in the oven for 35-40 minutes.

  • 6. Flavour the yoghurt with the almond essence and serve with the crumble.

    • 500g apple
    • 500g pear
    • 100g butter
    • 100g light brown sugar
    • 180g flour
    • 60 g walnuts chopped
    • 200g plain yoghurt
    • 3-4 drops almond essence
