Method

  • 1. Mix all the mince beef with the spices in a bowl and set aside.
  • 2. Get your steamer on.
  • 3. Separate the Savoy cabbage leaves by cutting out the core at the bottom, or alternatively break the leaves off carefully one by one without ripping them. I prefer the second method.
  • 4. Steam the leaves for about 5 minutes until tender, but not soggy.
  • 5. Take them out and let them cool off a bit.
  • 6. Once cooled, take a walnut size ball of meat mixture and put on the stem side of savoy leave and roll to the softer side while tucking in the sides. You will need at the end maybe two leaves to cover a meatball.
  • 7. Pop stuffed cabbages back to steamer for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Tips

    • Tip 1. Change the spices, also delicious with Chinese 5 Spice.
Tip 2. Even healthier option by replacing the beef with turkey mince.
Tip 3. Use white cabbage instead of Savoy cabbage.

The combinations are endless and so healthy and delicious.
