Pre heat oven to 200c/400f/gas6. Line muffin tray with 12muffin paper cases.
Sift plain flour,baking powder and salt into a bowl. Stir in wholemeal flour and caster sugar. Beat the milk, egg, warm melted butter and orange zest together and add to dry ingredients with the marmalade until just mixed.
Spoon into paper cases and sprinkle demerara sugar on top. Bake for 20-25 mins until golden brown.

Lovely recipe, nice change from all the usual muffin recipes. I squeezed the juice of the zested orange over the hot muffins - moist and orangey!
