Method

  • NOTE: The most important part of this recipe is that you get the correct curry sauce concentrate. The one mentioned "Goldfish Brand" can be found in Tesco as well as a lot of Chinese Supermarkets (Wing Yip etc). I found this to be exactly the same as was used in my local Take-Away

  • Method:

  • To make the Sauce:

  • 1. Disolve the Curry concentrate at about 1 part concentrate to 3-4 parts water in a pan (use water from a freshly boiled kettle). I normally use about 2-3 tablespoons to about 250ml water. you can always add more concentrate or water if too thin/thick.

  • 2. When disolved you need to boil for 2 minutes and stir all the time. the sauce will thicken when boiling.

  • To Make the Curry:

  • 1. Cut Onion into big pieces, about 2cm square

  • 2. Cut Chicken into thin strips as you want them to cook really quickly

  • 4. In a Wok heat some oil and when hot add the chicken and cook untill it is done (if small strips then about 4-5 minutes)

  • 5. Add the Onion. Depending on how Chrunchy you like your Onion, and I like it chunchy, I add for about 1 minute

  • 6. Once your chicken and onion is cooked just pour over the Sauce and bring back to the boil.

  • I serve this with Fried Rice and Prawn Crackers :)

  • Should Serve 2

  • is also good on chips!!!

    • You can get it online at tescos as I just had a look. I assume that as deliveries come from your local store if you look online and it is in stock that it must be in your local store. Could be worth asking at customer services if you cant find it. I have not looked in my local for a while but then I tend to buy a few at a time so I dont run out!!

    • I too use this brand of curry paste from a chinese supermarket. I have never seen it in Tesco though. How long ago did you get it and do you know if they still do it.You are right it is just the same as the restaurant/takeaway curry sauce. I love it with prawns :D
