Method

  • Grate bread to make breadcrumbs, older bread's easier. Mix all ingredients and knead. Take small balls and shape into patties, they need to be bigger and thinner than you want them to be in the end as they shrink in and up as you cook them. I put them on the BBQ or the griddle and they're perfect every time.
  • Tips

    • Use common sense to judge quantities, and it depends on which mince you use as to which herbs. Beef and coriander with beef oxo, chicken and thyme (chicken oxo) and lamb and mint's nice. If you have a half loaf of bread that's drying out, grate it all and save the breadcrumbs :)

I use lean mince but you can use budget, they will give out a lot of fat when you cook them.

    • Depends on what quality the meat is, the fattier versions shrink more so use less onion etc in proportion, a 'normal' pack is 400g so a large pack is probably about 700g?! Make it one time using what looks right then adjust the recipe accordingly to suit your own tastes. You could halve the amount of onion if not sure and then fry a small ball to check the seasonings, then add more as necc. Good luck! Nikki xXx

These are great on the BBQ and also cooked on the griddle. Dedicated to Jeanette, who put on her CV that she liked home cooking, had to show her these to make it true!

These are so expensive to buy, very easy to make so why not give it a try. Read More
