Ingredients

  • 7oz  self raising flour (sieved)
  • 8 oz  caster sugar (sieved)
  • 4 oz  margarine
  • 2 tbsp  cocoa powder (sieved)
  • 5 tbsp  evaporated milk
  • 3 tbsp  water
  • 3  eggs
  • 1 tsp  vanilla essence
  • 1.5 oz  margarine [For icing]
  • 4 oz  icing sugar (sieved) [For icing]
  • 1.5 tbsp  milk [For icing]
  • 2 tbsp  cocoa powder (sieved) [For icing]
  • 1 tsp  vanilla essence [For icing]

Method

1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees celcius

2. Easy peasy! Put all ingredients into a mixer and mix!

3. Pour mixture into a lined baking tin (approx 8 inches wide by 4 inches deep)

4. Place in oven for approx 1 hour. although after 45 mins you should test the cake by sticking a knitting needle into the middle and if it comes out clean then it should be almost ready.

5. Remove the cake from the tin and allow to cool.

6. While it is cooling put all ingredients for the icing into a saucepan. Heat over a low heat until mixture is smooth and glossy.

7. Pierce top of cake several times and pour icing over top of cake and allow to cool.

8. Enjoy!!!
