Baked Apple and Steaming Hot Custard

Method

  • 1. Core the centre of the apple with a potato peeler reoving the core and recycle.

  • 2. Mix a spoonful of juicy sultanas,brown demerara,orange rime (chop) and a tiny amount of dry ginger .

  • 3. Mix these ingredients and stuff them into the core opened up.

  • 4. With a fork spike the outer skin ar around place on a large plate or dish and heat to 180 degrees celsus for about 60 to 70 minutes.

  • 5. Whist waiting mix two dessert spoons of custard powder in a saucepan with about large cup of milk mixing to produce a smooth creamy mixture and then slowly heat at approx gentle heat until the custard starts to firm up but still viscous but not runny If you time this well the apple will have cooked ( about 40 minutes or so)

  • 6. Custard takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Pour the custard on the cooked apple which should be fluffy and easy to spoon out of its skin.

    • 1 tbsp. Orange rime
    • 0.5 tsp. Dry ginger
    • 2 dsp. Custard powder
    • 1 cup Milk
