American Kansas City Style BBQ Dry Rub Seasoning

Method

  • 1. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients together, cover with cling film and shake carefully until mixed evenly.

  • 2. Transfer the rub to an appropriate plate or bowl. Add your meat. Then gently stir and rub with clean, dry hands until there is an even coating all around the meat.

  • 3. Cook meat immediately, but not too quickly, or the brown sugar will over burn.
  • Tips

    • You can use this delicious rub on pretty much any kind of meat, fish or even vegetables, but it's especially yummy on steaks and ribs or as seasoning in burgers.

      Do not marinade the meat with seasoning for long periods of time. The salt will draw out all the moisture from the meat when left for too long.

      The seasoning can be stored in air tight container for up to six months.

    • 100g Soft Brown Sugar
    • 50g Smoked Paprika
    • 1 tablespoon Black Pepper
    • 1 tablespoon Sea Salt
    • 1 tablespoon Chilli Powder
    • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
    • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
    • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
