Pasta with Houmous and Mushroom Sauce (Vegan)

This recipe is from a student cook book from many years ago. It was the first time I ever bought houmous, never looked back!


1 - Boil water in the kettle and add to pasta and bring to simmer.
2 - In a large pan fry the onion in the olive oil until it starts to brown, add the garlic and fry for a another minute.
3 - Add the chopped mushrooms and fry until soft, add salt and pepper to taste.
4 - Add the houmous any soya milk to the pan, stir for a few minutes, don't let it get dry.
5 - Drain the pasta and stir into the sauce mixure.
6 - Serve.


Olive Oil 1 Tbsp
Cloves Of Garlic Finely Chopped 2
Large Onion. Chopped Finely 1
Soya Milk 50ml
Large Flat Mushrooms (or Any Other Type To Taste) 250g
Houmous (preferably Reduced Fat) 200g
Pasta (fusilli Or Penne Is Best) 200g
