1. Put all ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
2. Pour into 2 well-lined loaf tins or round tins.
3. Bake for 1 hour at 160 degrees C.
Could you half the recipe to make just one loaf?

Hi Susie, Here is a useful page which explains how many grams are in a cup, looks like it depends on what you are measuring: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_grams_are_in_a_cup
It should be fine to half the quantities, just make sure you have the right size tin to cook the cake so that it isn't too thin when it cooks.

1 cup is the measurement of a measuring jug. It is 1/2 pint or 10 fl oz. I don't think it is the same in grams for each ingredient because, as an example, flour is lighter than sugar

I have never bothered to make only one cake because they freeze so well but why not?

THE BEST LOAF RECIPE...EVER!
Decided just to invest in some measuring cups!
Cake was very easy to make, very light and most importantly delicious.
Going to have a look at your other recipes now!
