Christmas Apple & Cinnamon Loaf

Method

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C/Gas Mark 4)

  • 2. Lightly grease a loaf.

  • 3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, sugar and cinnamon.

  • 4. Mix the melted butter, egg, milk and vanilla essence. Stir and mix well, whilst folding in the raisins, chopped apples, and walnuts.

  • 5. Pour the mixture into the loaf pan.

  • 6. Sprinkle the top with chopped walnuts.

  • 7. Bake for about 45 minutes.

  • 8. Leave to stand for 10 minutes in pan before transfering to wire rack to cool.

    • 2.5 cup Flour
    • 1 tsp. Baking soda
    • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
    • 1 cup Sugar
    • 0.25 tsp. Salt
    • 0.5 cup Butter
    • 1 Egg
    • 0.5 cup Milk
    • 1 tsp. Vanilla essence
    • 1 cup  Apples.peeled. chopped
    • 0.5 cup Raisins
    • 0.5 cup Chopped walnuts

    The smell of this loaf always reminds me my childhood christmas, when I was so busy with my mum-baking- in the kitchen on christmas day.
