Chips (home-made oven chips)

Method

  • Allow approx 2 medium potatoes each.
  • Peel and cut into chunky chips.
  • Place in pan of cold water with dash of salt. Bring to the boil and par boil for 8/9 minutes.
  • Drain in a colander.
  • Put a large baking tray into a hot oven (gas mark 9/ 220 c) for 5 minutes to heat up.
  • Put chips into a large food bag and pour in a splash of olive oil, roll around to coat chips in oil.
  • Carefully tip chips into baking tray and put in to top of hot oven for approximately 40 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden.
