Meat and Potato Pie
Method
Tips
- For a traditional Lancashire lunch, make up individual pies, in foil pie cases, first put a thin layer of pastry in the case, add filling and then add a thin lid of pastry, sealing the sides with egg yolk and pinching together.

I cooked this Meat and Potato Pie for dinner last night. I did the lamb version (not the beef as beef is very expensive and quite difficult to get a good cut here in Cyprus). I used Astrochef's short crust pastry from here on Mydish and the pie really turned out better than I had expected. The pastry was perfect and the lamb lovely and tender. I am going to have to make this for a few of my Cypriot friends - thanks.
