Method

  • Preheat fan oven to 180 degrees Celsius

  • 1. Place all cake ingredients in a bowl and beat until no lumps are visible.

  • 2. Divide evenly between 2 greased 7 inch sandwich tins. Bake in preheated oven for 25-35 minutes until a skewer comes out clean when inserted. Cool on a wire rack.

  • 3. Beat all icing ingredients together in a clean bowl with an electric whisk (add more water if necessary).

  • 4. Spread between and on top of the cakes once they are cool. Decorate with white chocolate buttons or coloured sprinkles.

    • CAKE
    • 175g self raising flour
    • 175g caster sugar
    • 175g soft margarine
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 tbsp cocoa powder blended with 1 tbsp boiling water
    • ICING
    • 75g Butter
    • 200g icing sugar
    • 1½ tbsp cocoa powder
    • 1 tbsp hot water
