Method

  • Peel and finely chop onion

  • Chop mushrooms, peppers and carrots

  • Saute vegetables until soft. Remove from pan.

  • Crush garlic, add to mince and fry in its own fat until brown.

  • Add sauteed vegetables and chopped tomatoes, bay leaves, worcester sauce and mustard.

  • Add crumbled beef cubes to the mixture and simmer gently for about 30 mins.

  • Peel, boil and mash the potatoes.

  • Put meat mixture in oven proof dish and cover with mashed potato.

  • Bake in pre heated oved 190c/375f/gas mark 5
  • until potato is brown (approx 30 mins)

    • 2lbs  Best minced beef
    • 1 large spanish onion
    • ½ lb  mushrooms
    • 1 green pepper
    • 1 red pepper
    • ½ lb carrots
    • 2 tins chopped tomatoes
    • 2 bay leaves
    • 2 cloves garlic
    •  worcester sauce
    • 1tbs mustard
    • 2 Beef stock cubes
    • 5lbs Potatoes
