Shepherds Pie

Ingredients
- 2lbs Best minced beef
- 1 large spanish onion
- ½ lb mushrooms
- 1 green pepper
- 1 red pepper
- ½ lb carrots
- 2 tins chopped tomatoes
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cloves garlic
- worcester sauce
- 1tbs mustard
- 2 Beef stock cubes
- 5lbs Potatoes
Method
- Peel and finely chop onion
Chop mushrooms, peppers and carrots
Saute vegetables until soft. Remove from pan.
Crush garlic, add to mince and fry in its own fat until brown.
Add sauteed vegetables and chopped tomatoes, bay leaves, worcester sauce and mustard.
Add crumbled beef cubes to the mixture and simmer gently for about 30 mins.
Peel, boil and mash the potatoes.
Put meat mixture in oven proof dish and cover with mashed potato.
Bake in pre heated oved 190c/375f/gas mark 5
until potato is brown (approx 30 mins)
