Method

  • 1. Peel, core and slice the apples.

  • 2. Cook gently with a few drops of water, sugar and clove.

  • 3. Place in a pie dish, then remove the clove

  • 4. Lightly rub the fat into the flour and combine with the sugar.

  • 5. When the friut is cool, add the topping and bake in a hot oven 220c (reg. 7 425F) for about 30 minutes until lighty browned.

  • 6. Serve with custard, cream or vanilla ice cream.

  • You can have it with apple, blackberry, apple and gooseberry, rhubarb, rhubarb and ginger (all using cooked fruit) Rasberry, blackcurrant, damson(using raw fruit)
