1. Put a little oil in a frying pan or wok and heat, add the mushrooms and fry quickly until just browning. Add the tomato puree and red wine and stir well. Add the tin of stewing steak, mix and simmer for 2 or 3 minutes until a nice rich consistancy. Season to taste.
2. Meanwhile, with a heart shaped cutter, cut out as many heart shapes from the pastry as you want. Place on a baking tray and place in a preheated oven, 200oC, gas 6, for about 15-20 minutes or until risen a lightly golden.
Tips
Serve with any vegetables of your choice but I think lovely creamy mashed potato and petit pois take some beating!
I like to serve a treat on Valentine's Day but don't have a lot of time so simple but effective is the order of the day! This is lovely but so easy!! Bound to melt any heart!
