Any homemade tomato and basil sauce would work - personally I make a vat of pasta sauce to use for bolognese / lasagne etc - i do also like having a few jars around for ease and speed when life gets in the way.

Will post my pasta sauce recipe soon.

The Story Behind The Recipe

We stayed in a self catering flat in Majorca where we invented this - the sauce we found was Barilla Neapolitan sauce but can't get it in this country - Lloydd grossmans runs a good second. You could also make your own but as this originated from our holiday quick and easy ruled the roost. The Oscar Mayer bacon makes a huge difference as does the sweet onion.

Hope you enjoy - possibly with a nice beer or some red wine???
