Method

  • Grease a 1/2 pint pie dish and spread jam over the bottom.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar then beat in the egg a little at a time.
  • Fold in the flour and vanilla essence, and enough milk to give a soft dropping consistency.
  • Pour into the dish over the jam and bake for 30-40 mins at 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4

    • 3oz Caster Sugar
    • 3oz Butter
    • 1 Beaten Egg
    • 5oz Self-raising Flour
    • ½tsp Vanilla Essence
    •  Milk (to mix)
    •  Strawberry Jam
