Method
Grease a 1/2 pint pie dish and spread jam over the bottom.
Cream together the butter and sugar then beat in the egg a little at a time.
Fold in the flour and vanilla essence, and enough milk to give a soft dropping consistency.
Pour into the dish over the jam and bake for 30-40 mins at 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4

- 3oz Caster Sugar
- 3oz Butter
- 1 Beaten Egg
- 5oz Self-raising Flour
- ½tsp Vanilla Essence
- Milk (to mix)
- Strawberry Jam
