Method

  • Preheat oven to Gas mark 2/150 c

  • * Put butter and syrup into a pan and warm until butter is melted.
  • * Remove from heat and mix in the bicarbonate of soda and vanilla essence.
  • * Beat in the flour.
  • *Allow to cool and roll out until wafer thin.
  • * Cut shapes with a biscuit cutter and place onto a greased baking tray.

  • Bake for 7-9 minutes.
  • Ingredients

    • 4 oz self raising flour
    • 1 oz butter or margarine
    • 2 tbsp golden syrup
    • ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
    • ¼ tsp vanilla essence
