Macadamia and Prawn Stir Fry

Method

  • Heat oil in a wok.

  • Add onion, garlic, chilli and Australian Macadamia nuts and stir fry for two minutes or until Australian Macadamias are starting to brown.

  • Add prawns and stir fry until they change colour.

  • Add vegetables and stir fry for 1-2 minutes or until slightly wilted.

  • Combine all the sauces, blended water and cornflour. Stir into prawns, adding more water if necessary.

  • Cook until mixture thickens.

  • Serve with steamed rice

    • I came across this recipe and I thought to give it a go! I was very pleased with the result! My friends loved it! I hadn't tried using macademias before, but the result was more than satisfying... I think it adds an interesting exotic flavour to the prawns which is great for summer dishes! Try it and please let me know what you think!I'm trying to find more recipes with macademias...any ideas?     Ingredients

    • 1 Large onion cut into wedges
    • 2-3  Cloves of garlic
    • 1 Tablespoon of chopped fresh ginger
    • 1 Small Fresh Chilli. finely chopped
    • 1 Cup of Macadamia Halves
    • 1 kg Prawns Peeled
    • 750 grams Pak Choi / Spinach
    • 1 Tablespoon Fish Sauce
    • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
    • 2 Tablespoons Oyster / Plum Sauce
    • 80ml Water
    • 2 Teaspoons Cornflour
