Chinese Chilli Beef With Broccoli

Method

  • Mix steak with half the soy and corn flour.
  • Marinade for about 15 mins.
  • Heat wok, pour in the oil and heat until just smoking.
  • Stir fry the steak for 1 min on high heat, put meat aside, stir fry the garlic until golden, add chilli, broccoli and 2 tablespoons of water and stir fry for about 5 mins on high heat, adding a little water if mixture dry's out.
  • Next add fish sauce and rest of soy, followed by the sugar, lime juice and rind.
  • Stir fry for 30 secs and then add the beef.
  • cook for a further 2 mins and then add garnish of spring onions and coriander.
  • Serve with rice or noodles.

    • 200g rump or topside steak thinly sliced
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon corn floor
    • 2 tablespoons oil
    • 1 clove garlic finely chopped
    • 1 red chilli pepper
    • 300g broccoli florets
    • 2 tablespoons fish sauce (nam pla)
    • ½ teaspoon sugar
    • 1 lime juce and grated rind
    • 1 spring onion
    • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh coriander
