My kids love this, it is now a family tradition at all birthday parties!
1. Sift Dry ingredients together THREE times.
2. Beat eggs and then add sugar until mixture is thick and creamy.
3. Add vanilla.
4. Fold in the dry ingredients slowly
5. Put the milk and butter in a pot and slowly bring to the boil.
6. When the dry ingredients are all folded in together, and the milk and butter have come to the boil, quickly pour the frothing milk mixture into cake mixture and mix well.
7. Now pour the mixture into 2 greased large tins
8. Bake in the oven (400 degrees or gas mark 6) for 15 - 20 mins.
9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely - say 2 hours
10. Now ice with a butter icing
Decoration Idea:
I usually finish off the decoration by using 2 bags of Maltesers. I tend to use one bag of the brown chocolate Maltesers and one bag of the white chocolate Maltesers and alternat the decoration by using one brown and then one white around the edge of the cake. I have even spelled out the name (and age) of whoevers birthday it is in Maltesers.
