Sausage Meat Roll in Pastry

Ingredients

  • 1¼ lb sausage meat
  • 1 tbsp. chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp. seedless raisins
  • 1 tbsp. grated apples
  • 1 egg
  • 4-6 oz lean ham
  • ? seasoning
  • 1lb shortcrust pastry

Method

Blend sausage meat with onion, parsley, raisins, apple and beaten egg. Bind together and season.
Roll out pastry into 8-12 ins. and place on greased baking tray. Divide sausage meat into half. Place first half on pastry leaving 2 in. round the edge. Top with ham. Cut into strips. Place remainder of sausage meat on top. Dampen edges. Fold over and seal. Make several slits on top. Brush over with beaten egg. Bake in moderate oven 350 for 45 minutes.
