1. Lightly grease and line an 8 inch square cake tin.
2.Place butter, sugar, chocolate and syrup in a saucepan and heat gently until mixture is blended and smooth. Remove from heat and leave to cool.
3.Beat eggs and whisk into the cooled chocolate mixture.
4.Sieve in the flour and cocoa powder and carefully fold into the mixture using a metal spoon or spatula.
5.Add in the chopped nuts.
6.Spoon the mixture into the cake tin. Bake in a preheated oven 180 C for 25 minutes or until the edge of the cake is begining to shrink from sides of tin.
The inside will still be quite gooey and soft to touch.
Very very rich and chocolatey, but I love that, and it also stops you from eating the whole lot at once. Not really like brownies I have had before but I guess that is the dark chocolate. Would be lovely as a desert with scoop of vanilla ice cream.
