Method
1. Melt in a pan margarine, sugar and
golden syrup.
2. Add this to the flour seived into bowl
with the chocolate powder.
3. When well mixed, add the egg, warmed milk
and the sod.bic. and pour into mixture-
which will be very thin.
4. Put into well greased sandwich tins.
5. Bake 30 minutes at 375 deg.F or Reg.5.
6. Make the filling. Blend the chocolate or
cocoa powder with little boiling water
and then add to rest.
7. Fill the cake.
8. Make the icing and ice it.

- 4 oz. Margarine
- 4 oz. Sugar
- 4 oz. Golden Syrup
- 6 oz. Plain Flour
- 2½ oz. Chocolate Powder
- 1 Egg
- ¼ pt. Milk
- ½ tsp. Sod. Bic.
- ----- Filling
- 3 oz. Margarine
- 6 oz. Icing Sugar
- 1 tbsp. Chocolate or Cocoa Powder
- few drops Vanilla Essence
- ----- Icing
- 6 oz. Icing Sugar
- small nut Margarine
- 1½ tbsp. Chocolate or Cocoa Powder
- 3-4 tsp. Boiling Water
