I made this recipe with caster sugar and I advice everybody against doing that. As Myrna Young wrote it is very important to use Icing Sugar!

Actually it depends if you want to put the icing in the middle - I tend to use double but it is a good base recipe because you can just adjust the quantities to suit your tastes but keep the ratios the same - good luck x

I'm guessing this makes enough icing for a 7 inch cake?

Do you melt the butter before putting it in?

I iced my husbands birthday cake with this - (Myrna's birthday cake recipe) and it was a real success - but I only had to use one and a bit tablespoons of milk to get the right consistency. Really tasty!!!!!!

Fondant that is easy to colour and decorate cupcakes

          Method

          1. 1. Place icing sugar into a bowl and VERY gradually add the water until you reach the consistency of very thick honey or treacle. This will be around 3 tbsp. water but remember spoon sizes vary and you can always add but you can't take away! Stir in glucose and use the icing immediately.
