Ingredients
- 8 oz Self raising flour
- pinch of salt
- 2 oz butter
- 1-2 oz cheddar cheese. grated
- 5 fl oz milk
- tablespoon fresh chopped chives
- teaspoon black pepper
Method
- Heat oven to 220c/425f. Lightly grease baking sheet.
- Mix flour and salt and rub in butter.
- Stir in cheese then milk to get a soft dough.
- Turn onto floured work surface and lightly knead.
- Stamp out rounds 2.5cm thick.
- Brush tops with milk.
- Bake 12-15mins.

Ingredients
- 2 cups plain flour
- 2 tsps baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese
- ½ cup butter
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 large egg
Method
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
- Stir in cheese and mix well.
- Mix in butter with a pastry blender or processor, until mixture is crumbly.
- Beat egg with milk and add flour mixture to form a stiff dough.
- Divide dough into two pieces.
- Form each piece into a ball and then pat out to form an 8-inch circle.
- Cut each circle into 6 wedges.
- Place wedges onto lightly greased baking tray.
- Bake for approximately 15 minutes, until lightly browned.

All recipes seems to say cups of ingredients but I have never use this kind of measure. Please can you tell me how much is a cup

Ingredients
- 2 ‚ ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. dill weed
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¾ cup butter
- 2 eggs beaten
- ½ cup half-and-half
Method
- Heat oven to 400 degrees. In medium bowl combine all ingredients EXCEPT butter, eggs and half-and-half. Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Stir in eggs and half-and-half just until moistened. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth (1 min.).
- Divide dough in half; roll each half into 8" circle. Cut each circle into 8 pie-shaped wedges. Place 1" apart on cookie sheets.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
