Daiquiri recipes
Ingredients
- 3 Parts Rum (White)
- 1 Part Lime Juice
- ½ Teaspoon Sugar
Method
- 1. Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass on the rocks.
- VARIATIONS
- Above is the Classic version of the cocktail. However, you can vary the fruit depending on your passion. For example if limes are not available replace them with Lemon Juice, Strawberry, Kiwi or indeed any fruit of your choice. Simply puree the fruit of your choice and replace the Lime Juice.
- The frozen Daiquiri again is a simple variation. All you need to do is add the ice and rum to the blender together with the fruit of your choice. Blend together for 10 to 20 seconds and there you have it!
- This is a great cocktail to serve when guests arrive for a barbeque and to get the evening off to a good start.

Hi michele - strictly speaking the answer to your question is no, but really it does not matter that much - the drink will look slightly more "brown" but that is not a big issue, it will not effect the taste that much - so go for it - I'm sure your guests will love it - have a great paty BTW.
Ingredients
- 100ml white rum
- 75ml rose syrup
- 40ml lime juice
- 20 medium-sized strawberries. stalks removed
- 10 large ice-cubes
- Small strawberries to garnish
Method
- Place everything in a liquidiser and blitz for 30 seconds until smooth. Pour into glasses and garnish with a strawberry.
- You can buy pink rose syrup from many supermarkets, but if you would like to make your own, boil together 100g caster sugar and 150ml water for a few minutes until it is slightly syrupy.
- Add 1/2 1tsp of rose water and a couple of drops of pink or red food colouring. Leave to cool.
