Ingredients
- ½ lb. flour
- ¼ lb. dripping
- ½ tbs. salt
- ¼ tbs. grated lemon rind (if liked)
- 2 tbs. sugar
- size of bean butter
Method
- 1. Peel and core the apples.
- 2. Fill the hole with sugar and the butter then brush over the hole with some cold water.
- 3. Mix the paste and fold it round each apple. making sure the edges are wet and pressed together well on the underside.
- 4. Put the apples ona greased tray and sprinkle them with some cold water. Bake for 1/2 hour in a hot oven.

- 175g/6oz Self Raising Flour
- 75g/3oz Suet Shredded
- 1 Tbsp Parsley finely chopped
- Salt and Black Pepper to Season
- Water to mix
Method
- 1. To make the dumplings, sieve the flour into a bowl and add the suet, parsley, salt and pepper.
- 2. Add enough water to make a soft but not sticky dough, about 3 tbsp.
- 3. Lightly flour your hands and roll the dough into eight small balls. Add to a stew and cook for a further 15-20 minutes.

- 4 oz self raising flour
- 2oz Atora Vegetable suet
- 2-3 tbsp Cold Water
Method
- 1. Mix the suet with the flour.
- 2. Add the water a bit at a time
- 3. When mixed roll into balls and place on top of a casserole dish - 20 mins before you serve

I made apple dumplings yesterday. My recipe uses suet and self raising flour. Fill the hole with sugar before placing on the circles of pastry. Yummy but not very healthy.

Not sure if using "Dripping" can constitute this recipe in the "Healthy eating" section. Is this moderated?
