I've been making this as one of my family's favourite recipes for years!!!! But I use all sorts of available fruit...
Their favourite is blueberries and apple.
Sometime I caramelise the fruit first...try it with caramelised nectarines .. I'll put that recipe on the site.
Ingredients
- 200g blackberries
- 3 large apples
- 200g flour
- 150g sugar
- 100g butter
- 50g oats
- 2 tbsp brow sugar
Method
- 1. Put a layer of blackberries in a large dish that goes in the oven.
- 2. Cover with a layer of diced apple (after removing the peel and core).
- 4. Sprinkle on a little brown sugar.
- 5. Mix the flour, butter, sugar and oats until combined to a crumb-like texture.
- 6. Spoon the topping mixture over the fruit
- 7. Bake (180C) until top goes toasty brown
