    Ingredients

    • 250g Self Raising Flour
    • 150g Sugar or Sweetener
    • 250g Butter or Marg
    • 2 Eggs
    • 2 tsp Milk
    • 3-4 desert spoons honey

    Method

    1. Put in the dry ingredients and give them a quick stir, then add the eggs, butter or marg, milk and honey and mix together. Keep mixing for about 4-5 minutes, until it is thick and smooth. Pour into a cake tin or into individual cake cases. Place in oven on gas mark 5 for approximately 30 minutes, although you will need to check it's progress after 20 - 25 mins. Should be golden brown on top.

        I would love to try this, but it seems the measurements haven't come through properly, could you tell me the oil, sugar, water and honey requirements please? ty

      Ingredients

      • 1tsp Bicarbonate Soda
      • 1 dessert spoon Cinnamon
      • 2ozs Melted Margarine
      • ¾cup Oil
      • ½lb Granulated Sugar
      • 1 ½cups Warm Water
      • ¾lb Honey
      • 1lb Self raising flour
      • 3 Eggs
      • 1tsp Baking Powder
      • 1 dessertspoon Mixed Spice

      Method

      1. Mix honey and sugar together. Add oil and melted margarine. Beat well and add eggs gradually. Add warm water and all spices mix well and finally fold in the sifted flour mixed with baking powder and bicarbonate soda. Line a big tin and bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour.

        Ingredients

        • 6ozs Honey
        • 5½ ozs unsalted butter
        • 2½ ozs dark muscovado sugar
        • 2 eggs
        • 7ozs self raising flour

        Method

        1. 1. Preheat oven to 160c,300f,gas mk 2.

        2. 2. Butter and line a 2lb loaf tin.

        3. 3. Cut butter into bits and put into a saucepan with the honey and sugar. Melt over a low heat intil liquid. Boil for 1 minute. Leave to cool for at least 15 to 20 minutes.

        4. 4. Beat the eggs into honey mixture.

        5. 5. Sift flour into a large bowl and then add the liquid. Beat until it is a smooth batter.

        6. 6. Pour mixture into the loaf tin and cook for approx 50 minute to 1 hour. Test with a skewer. Turn the cake onto a wire rack and glaze with approx 1 tablespoon of warmed honey.
