Try adding a small amount of mild chilli powder - it really lifts the dish to another level. As a variation for the spaghetti sauce, just crush a couple of garlic cloves in a pestle with salt black pepper and a couple of green chillies - fry in good olive oil and then mix with the al dente pasta. Gourmet feast fit for a king. This is very popular in Italy.

Yes, I'm hungry now and will be trying it! I'm a student too. I'm quite good at cooking but can't afford the kind of food I want to buy, so simple recipes like this are perfect.

      Ingredients

      • 200g Pasta (any type)
      •  green pesto
      •  cream cheese

      Method

      1. The quantities here are for 1 person.

      2. 1. Put the pasta onto boil and when it's finished cooking, rain the water (leaving a little bit left so the pasta isn't too dry).

      3. 2. Take a spoonful of cream cheese and mix it thoroughly with the pasta: when I cook this for myself I only use one desert spoon full of cream cheese.

      4. 3. Add the pesto: if you used one spoonful of cream cheese, use one and a half of pesto.

      5. The thing with this is to experiment with the quatities of cream cheese and pesto until you find the perfect combination.
