These sound nice ...might have a go at making some.Intrigued why it says "roast potatoes" at the top of the ingredients list !

Made these today, very quick , easy, and beautifull!! I banged a little cinnamon and ginger in , 1/2tsp and 1tsp respectivley, and about 100g of smashed up chocolate, in retrospect, i can see they would have been magnificent anyway, but they were really spot on!

    Ingredients

    • 5 oz Self Raising Flour
    • 3 oz Margarine
    • 4 oz Porridge Oats
    • 5 oz Caster Sugar
    • 1 tablespoon Golden Syrup
    • 1 teaspoon Bicarbonate of Soda

    Method

    1. Melt together the margarine and syrup. Use this to bind the remaining ingredients into a dough - it should be fairly firm - bit like a beef burger. Roll the mixture into balls the size of a walnut and place on 2 baking trays. Bake at 180 C for about 8-10 mins - until golden brown. I usally take out the top tray and move the bottom tray up in the oven - by the time you transfer the first tray of biscuits to a wire rack the second tray is usually done. They spread out on the tray and will burn so keep an eye on them. They may squash up when you transfer them but this adds to the character and they still taste lush!
