    Ingredients

    • 1/3 cup white wine vinegar/rice vinegar
    • 4 tbl spns brown sugar
    • 1 tbl spn Ketchup
    • 1 tbl spn soy sauce
    • t tea spns cornstarch
    • 4tbl spns Water
    • 1 green pepper(if desired)

    Method

    1. first mix together the cornstarch and water and leave to one side.
    2. then mix the vinegar,brown sugar,ketchup and soy saucetogether and bring to the boil in a small pot.
    3. mix the cornstarch mixture in with the rest to thicken.
    4. (if desired ypu could add a chopped green pepper)

        I have just made this today and wow it is a very easy and fantastic recipe. Best thing is it has very few ingredients. Thank you for sharing this recipe here.

        I made this yesterday and it went down really well - I have been looking for a decent Sweet and Sour Sauce for ages and have now found it. Thank you

      Ingredients

      • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
      • 1 tablespoon Tomato ketchup
      • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
      • 100ml white or rice vinegar (rice is better!)
      • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (mixed with 4 teaspoons water)

      Method

      1. Mix that vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce and bring to the boil in a small pan.
      2. Stir in the cornstarch and water mix, add to the other ingredients and stir to thicken.
      3. To jazz up your sauce add chunks of pineapple or green pepper.
      4. For a thicker sauce, add more cornstarch.

        Ingredients

        • 3 tbls dark brown soft sugar
        • 3 tbls rice vinegar
        • 1 tbls tomato puree
        • 1 tbls ketchup
        • ½ tbls soy sauce
        • 1 tbls honey
        • 3 tbls orange juice (fresh)

        Method

        1. Mix altogether in small sauce pan and simmer for few minutes until thicker.

        2. Can use hot or cold.
