Welsh rarebit recipes
Ingredients
- 4 Pieces French Bread (sliced)
- 25g Butter (soft)
- 1 level teaspoon Mustard
- To taste Salt
- ¼ tesp Worcestershire Sauce
- 175g Lancashire Cheese (grated)
- 2 Tblsp Milk
- To taste Sliced stuffed olives
Method
- 1. Toast the bread on the crusty side only.
- 2 Cream the butter well and stir in mustard, salt, cayenne, Worcester sauce, cheese and milk.
- 3. Spred equal amounts of the mixture thickly over the untoasted sides of the bread.
- 4. Place the bread under a hot grill (spread side up) and allow to brown.
- 5. Remove from grill and place a few sliced stuffed olived on the top and serve.

Hi Scarlet, suggested accompaniment a mug of Tomato Soup with a dash of Tabasco sauce.
You might just be able to turn the heating down, cost of meal is then zero.
Ingredients
- 1 Slice of Bread
- 1 load of grated cheese
- 1 Egg
- 1 Spoon of Mustard
- 1 pinch of pepper
- 1 Butter if desired
Method
- Mix up all the above ingredients (apart from the bread) in to a thick mixture, spread on the bread.
- Put the grill onto a very low heat and put the bread under. allow to slow cook, (remember theres raw egg in that mixture)
- Once golden brown and non runny, take out serve and enjoy.

- little slices Cayenne pepper
- quarter of teaspoon Worchesttershire sauce
- 175g Lancashire cheese crumbled
- 2 tablespoons milk
- sliced stuffed olives(three per piece of toast)
Method
- 1. Split French bread in half.Toast bread on crusty side only.
- 2. Cream butter well and stir in mustard,salt,cayenne,Worchestire sauce,cheese and milk.
- 3. Spread equal amounts thickly over untoasted sides of bread.
- 4. Wait till untoasted side gets brown take out and top with stuffed olives.
