Dieticians will tell you that you shouldn’t snack between meals and that it is actually bad for you and will lead to poor eating habits and may cause you to put on weight. Ok so this is fairly obvious! The problem is that few of us can resist the temptation of a tasty snack; like our favorite sandwich, an Italian Panini or the irresistible Club Sandwich for example. The fact is that snacking can also have very positive effects; not only on keeping those hunger pangs a bay, but also on the psyche….. you just can’t beat a good snack! So the answer must be “Responsible Snacking”
Traditional snack recipes include, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage Rolls and the Cornish Pasty. However, the best snacks have got to be those made at home in the traditional way and to your personal taste, often using fresh ingredients or the leftovers from a meal the night before like Coronation Chicken or a Tortilla Wrap.
The naughtiest snack has got to be the “midnight snack”, which is great if you can’t sleep or just need a little something to help fend off the excesses of a night on the town.
