Lentil Soup

Lentil Soup is a favourite soup dish in the Middle East. German Lentil Soup is very similar but generally it is served with a thicker consistency as is the Hungarian Version of Lentil Soup. It can be made from red or green Lentils and is a very healthy and nutritious as it is high in fiber, protein and iron.

Lentil soup traditionally served hot and is essentially a vegetarian soup and often contains other vegetables like onion, potatoes and best of all the Carrot and Lentil Soup. Some people add meat or meat stock to the lentil soup to give it more flavor, like the Lentil and Bacon Soup as well as garlic, olive oil or lemon juice for the same reason.
