Best way to cook Okra?

Question: I haven't cooked okra before, but love eating it when at an Indian restaurant. Does anyone have a top tip for cooking it? Thanks!

Hmm....good question, my dear friend, Mati, in israel, makes a yummy okra - or she calls it 'bamya' dish, where the okra (is it also known as Lady's Finger'?? is cooked in a tomato-ey sauce and quite spicy....let me ask Mati for her tips and come back to you, EllaBella! Thanks Anna

You can fry the okra before making it in a curry which will prevent it from going slimy.If you want to avoid the cals then add some lemon juice while cooking Okra. Anything acidic like tamarind or lemon juice will reduce the slimy nature of Okra. Hope that helps.
