Method

  • 1. Put flour and butter into a bowl and mix through your fingers
  • 2. Add the sugar and raisins (you could use chocolate chips, sugar strands instead) and the spice
  • 3. Beat the egg in another bowl and then add to the flour mixture
  • 4. Mix together using your hands until the mixture looks like bread crumbs
  • 5. Then collect all the bits in the bowl and make it into one big ball
  • 6. Grease a tray and set the oven to 200C/400F/gas mark 6
  • 7. Break off large bits of the mixture and form into 8-12 flattened shapes, but make sure that you make them look like rock
  • 8. Then put it in the oven for 15 minuets

    • 90g / 3oz Soft Brown sugar
    • 1 Egg
    • 1 pinch Salt
    • ½ teaspoon Mixed Spice
    • 250g / 8oz Self-raising Flour
    • 90g / 3oz Butter
    • 125g / 4oz Raisins / choc chips
    • 125g/4oz sugar strands
    • 1 tsp food colouring
