Mix Bisquick, salt, sugar together in a large bowl. Fold in room temperture lard.
Let sit for 2 minutes. Add buttermilk; mix throughly, until a dough forms. On a bisquicked, cutting board scoop dough onto it. knead dough ( like bread) until semi-firm.
pre heated oven @190
With a rolling pin roll dough out
until its 1.75-2.0 inches thick, cut biscuits with mouth of glass tumbler. Place on a greased pan 1 inch apart, cook for 15-20 mintues.
Bisquick is an American pre-mix but One cup of Bisquick can be substituted by a mix of one cup of flour, 1½ teaspoons of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of oil or melted butter.
Hi JWMCCABE - can you tell me what Bisquick is. I assume it is an American baking ingredient. Is there an equivalent here in the UK. I wanted to make these for my boyfriend (he's from Orlando) but not sure how to get hold of this Bisquick.
