Christmas Apple & Cinnamon Loaf

The smell of this loaf always reminds me my childhood christmas, when I was so busy with my mum-baking- in the kitchen on christmas day.


1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C/Gas Mark 4)

2. Lightly grease a loaf tin.

3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, sugar and cinnamon.

4. Mix the melted butter, egg, milk and vanilla essence. Stir and mix well, whilst folding in the raisins, chopped apples, and walnuts.

5. Pour the mixture into the loaf pan.

6. Sprinkle the top with chopped walnuts.

7. Bake for about 45 minutes.

8. Leave to stand for 10 minutes in pan before transfering to wire rack to cool.


Vanilla Essence 1 tsp.
Milk 0.5 cup
Egg 1
Butter 0.5 cup
Salt 0.25 tsp.
Sugar 1 cup
Cinnamon 1 tsp.
Baking Soda 1 tsp.
Flour 2.5 cup
Apples.peeled. Chopped 1 cup
Raisins 0.5 cup
Chopped Walnuts 0.5 cup
