- 2 eggs
- vegetable oil for deep frying

i loved making this recipe, it was fun making the twisty shapes using the dough and piping bags, they look interesting and taste great with a cup of hot chocolate.

heat the water,brown sugar,orange rind and salt in a heavy based saucepan on medium heat until the butter has melted, add the flour,cinnamon and vanilla extract, remove from heat and beat rapidly until the mixture pulls away from the side of the saucepan, leave to cool slightly,beat in the eggs one at a time,beat well after each egg, until the mixture is thick and smooth,spoon into a piping bag fitted with a wide star nozzle. heat the oil for deep frying in a deep fat fryer or deep saucepan,pipe 13cm lengths about 7.5cm apart into the oil, cook for 4 mins or until golden brown, carefully remove with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper, dust the churros with caster sugar and cinnamon and serve hot or cold.
