Description

A lovely crumbly shortbread recipe handed down from
my great grandma, an unusal way to make it but it is
a firm favourite in our house.

Method

  1. 1

Preheat oven to gas 5, melt butter and marg in a large saucepan very slowly on a low heat.
Sieve the dry ingredients into a bowl mix together and
then add to the saucepan, mix to a dough using a wooden
    spoon.
Press the dough into a greased swiss roll tin or small baking tray, smooth with a knife and prick it all over with a fork.
bake for 20/25 mins or until pale brown.
Take out of oven mark shortbread into fingers while its still warm and dredge all over with caster sugar.
Turn out on to a wired rack when nearly cold.
