Description
I like this recipe as it is a North East of England favourite! It's a tasty meal even more so in the winter, enjoy.
Method
-
1
Heat the oven to 150 degrees celsius.
-
2
Chop the onions into small pieces.
-
3
Add the oil to a pan then add the onion.
-
4
Once the onion is soft, add the minced beef to the pan, cook until browned.
-
5
Meanwhile boil a pint of water in the kettle and add 5 heaped dessert spoons of gravy granules into a jug.
-
6
Pour a pint of boiling water over the gravy granules, mix until smooth.
-
7
Add the worcester sauce, salt and pepper stirring them into the meat.
-
8
Pour the gravy into the pan containing the meat and simmer for 5 minutes.
-
9
Put the suet, plain flour and a pinch of salt to a bowl and mix.
-
10
Measure 5 tablespoons of water pouring into the bowl, knead into a stiff dough.
-
11
Divide the dough into 8 balls.
-
12
Remove the mince from the heat and place into an oven proof dish.
-
13
Place the 8 balls of dough in the mince so they are half covered.
-
14
Cook in the oven for 40 minutes or until the dumplings are crispy and brown on the top but soft in the middle.
Just made this and it is fantastic. It will certainly be made again ...and again...and again! Thanks
Really simple but very very yummy. A huge hit with all the family :)
