Almond Toffee Pieces

This recipe is easy to prepare and yields a full flavored, crunchy toffee.


1.Generously butter a large baking sheet.
2.Combine butter and sugar in a large heavy saucepan.
3.Cook and stir over high heat until mixture boils. Reduce heat to medium, cook, stirring constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 310*F (155*C).
4.Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup of the almonds. Stir quickly and pour onto prepared baking sheet.
5.When it has cooled a little bit, sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate pieces over top.
6.Once softened, spread chocolate with a spatula evenly over toffee.
7.Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of almonds.
8.Cool and and break into serving pieces.


Chocolate 1 cup
Almonds 1 cup
Sugar 2 cups
Butter 1 cup
