cook potatos in lightly salted water
shred cabbage and cook gently in boiling water for 7 mins
chop and cook bacon in a medium saucepan with oil
add cabbage to bacon pan and cook for 5 mins stirring so as not to stick
serve with potatos and pour oil over cabbage
serve with gravy if desired
