Ingredients
- 100g Basmati rice. washed
- 100g yellow split beans (mung Dhal)
- 400g Water
- 1 med. onion chopped
- 200g mixed vegetables (read tip)
- Β½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- ΒΌ teaspoon asoefedita powder
- 1 dried curry leaf
- salt to taste
- 2 teaspoons Ghee (claryfied Butter) or vegetable oil

1. Heat ghee in a sauce pan, add cumin seeds and let it splutter for few seconds
2. Add asoefedi and curry leaf
3. After the leaf change color, add onion
4. Mix for few minutes till onion is well transparent
5. Add the remaining ingredients and water (rule is twice the volume of rice plus dhal)
6. Add vegetables, try instead asparagus or any other vegetable variation
7. Reduce heat and let simmer until all is cooked, about 35-40 mins.
